e-CAB Measures of the Situation at the Pandemic for Digital Economy of Bangladesh

 

We are moving in line with the new situation of 2020. The E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh has made e-commerce service providers a part of the people’s daily lives by launching various programs since March this year to keep the economy afloat in the use of technology in this newly changed life of Corona.

E-Cab has been providing daily necessities worth around Tk 3,000 crore through 160 e-commerce companies at the homeless’s doorsteps since March. At this time, in addition to creating separate guidelines for the health safety of our frontline delivery workers, dedicated medical care is provided over the phone to protect their health.

It launched to deliver door-to-door relief to people who may not be able to seek emergency relief during this disaster, e-Cab’s humanitarian initiative “Manabseva.com”. In addition to providing monthly / weekly emergency food services directly to about 1000 families in the month of April alone, e-Cab stands by the helpless people in every district of the country through open volunteers.

In the holy month of Ramadan, e-Cab member entrepreneurs from across the country have been added to A2I’s “Daily Service on Phone” program at Emergency Information Service 333 to keep the economy running smoothly. About 50,000 successful deliveries are made every day during Ramadan and Eid shopping by the courier companies under e-Cab.

In June, the Ministry of Commerce, together with the Ministry of Commerce, organized an e-cab called “Mango Fair, e-commerce Sarabela” to supply about 152,000 kg of mangoes to consumers across the country. E-commerce organizations.

Keeping all the activities started earlier, 80 organizations affiliated to E-Cab in Dhaka North City Corporation’s Rajabazar and Dhaka South City Corporation’s Wari area have provided emergency daily necessities and medicines to more than 1.5 lakh people in the two regions and provided emergency relief assistance. This initiative has been praised at all levels of government and non-government.

Although Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated every year on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, the second holiest festival in the Muslim world. In addition to selling about 26,000 animals, for the first time, home delivery in safe packaging was done through sacrificial and meat processing at the place designated by the city corporation. This initiative will be a milestone in the history of the country’s digital economy.

Despite all efforts to make all services available, e-Cab started working with Prime Bank to bring e-Cab member organizations under easy terms banking loans to enhance services and conduct normal activities.

From the beginning of September, E-Cab agreed with the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) to ensure e-commerce companies’ participation that supply onions and other essential commodities at affordable prices.

E-Cab has also created about 6 million direct beneficiaries through more than 1,300 member e-commerce organizations through free online training for 5,000 entrepreneurs and 50,000 new jobs. E-Cab is committed to delivering digital commerce or e-commerce services to remote areas, driving the digital economy to build a digital Bangladesh.
