Operating Guideline during Ramadan 2020

SoP for Food Delivery Service (FDS)

 

  1. Food Delivery Service (FDS) and restaurants will ensure they operate whilst maintaining health safety rules and visible social distancing following the guidance of WHO & the Health Ministry of Bangladesh for Covid-19.
  2. Food Delivery Service (FDS) will use their app and website to digitally connect all restaurants to customers to order iftar and sehri during Ramadan 2020.
  3. Food Delivery Service (FDS) will work with the restaurants to facilitate restaurants to operate deliveries only.
  4. Food Delivery Service (FDS) and restaurants will ensure that suitable safeguards are in place by ensuring the provision of masks, gloves and hand sanitizers for their kitchen staff, riders and food handlers.
  5. Food Delivery Service (FDS) will share the list of restaurants that want to operate with the local DC office to ensure the DC office is aligned.
  6. Food Delivery Service (FDS) will arrange weekly digital meetings over Zoom with restaurant owners and DC offices to ensure proper monitoring. Food Delivery Service (FDS) will also share digital records of restaurants maintaining cleanliness, hygiene checks with all relevant government agencies.
  7. Restaurants will keep their shutters down. Dine in and iftar bazaar is strictly prohibited.
  8. Restaurants will only serve deliveries through Food Delivery Service (FDS) and their own delivery channel to cater for Iftar, Dinner and Sehri whilst encouraging home quarantine.

 

Restaurant Safety Procedures

  1. Restaurants will perform a daily temperature check for all their staff and record it in the online logbook to be shared by Food Delivery Service (FDS) . If any staff member has more than 99.7 F temperature, the staff cannot start shift and will be sent home.
  2. Restaurants will disinfect all surfaces every 4 hours, clean all countertops, doorknobs, utensils and surfaces with disinfectants and record it in the online logbook to be shared by Food Delivery Service (FDS) .
  3. Restaurants will ensure washing areas equipped with soap, water and/or hand sanitizer available for its staff.
  4. Restaurants will ensure safe social distance between all staff and workspaces.
  5. Restaurants will create designated pick-up zones for riders with marked boxes adhering to social distancing norms.

 

 Personal Hygiene for Restaurant Personnel

  1. Before preparing food, all staff members must always wash their hands with soap and water for 20 seconds for general food safety.
  2. During work, all staff members should avoid touching their eyes, nose, and mouth.
  3. Staff members should use gloves to avoid direct bare hand contact with ready-to-eat foods.
  4. Staff members should use tissue while coughing and sneezing and then throw the tissue in the trash and wash hands.
  5. Staff members should cover hair to prevent contamination of food and ensure hygiene.

 

 Food Delivery Service (FDS)  Safety Procedures

  1. Food Delivery Service (FDS) must check temperatures of riders before the start of their shift and if under 99.7 F, provide the rider with a “fit to operate sticker”. The temperature must be recorded in the online logbook.
  2. Food Delivery Service (FDS) has launched contactless delivery available for customers with online payment options which allows deliveries while maintaining social distance.
  3. Food Delivery Service (FDS) will provide riders with disinfectants so that they can disinfect their bags and other equipment.
  4. Food Delivery Service (FDS) will keep provision for proper PPE for riders to ensure safety and prevent transmission whilst operating in red zones/ lockdowns/ epicentres.
  5. Food Delivery Service (FDS) has facilitated insurance for all their delivery riders which covers them for health and life insurance if infected with Covid-19. Food Delivery Service (FDS) also pledges to support its riders with income protection for the duration of the disease if infected.

 

Safety Practices for Food Delivery Service (FDS) riders

  1. Riders must stay home and swap shifts if they feel unwell with a fever, dry cough or tiredness. They must give digital confirmation via the app before they start the shift.
  2. Riders must wash their hands frequently for at least 20 seconds each time. If soap and water is not available, they can use a hand sanitizer.
  3. Riders must wear masks, hand gloves and sanitize their hands after each delivery or pickup.
  4. Riders must maintain a distance of at least 3 feet from people coughing, sneezing or who look unwell.
  5. Riders must disinfect their delivery bag frequently and multiple times during their shift.
  6. Riders must perform contactless delivery by ensuring social distance and no contact with customers.
